I was told this was a transfer case PTO off an M35 but it is too big for the back of the transfer case.

PTO for a 5 ton transfer case, specifically for a 5 ton wrecker.

I do not think it is for the M939 wrecker, does not look like the one on my wrecker.

Agree its for the older 5 ton, not 939 series. B&M picture is of a 2 1/2 ton PTO though!

Sorry for my vague answer, wrecker PTO for a M809 or M39 series wrecker, yes it does turn all the time, it does not disengage.
