I recently acquired a 1953 xm211. It was found last year in the woods by developers who were clearing land for a subdivision. it was parked with 7 or so other random trucks. They were all headed for scrap until my friend bought them all. It sat at his house for about a year until i finally bit the bullet and bought it. We are guessing it has been sitting between 20 and 30 years. Most of the over haul tags are from 1964 and 1967. Luckily it still rolls and only the cab has some severe rot. But the frame and bed are still good. The motor was seized from sitting but i pulled the head and sent it off for a rebuild and managed to get the engine unstuck and turning over. Im going to be in it far more than its worth but there is a certain satisfaction from saving something like this and i have no plans to get rid of it.
Where she sat the past year or so

Severe passenger side rot

Interior full of leaves and dirt

Tire didnt like being moved

The easy way to load one of these on a trailer

little duct tape should fix that right?

Loaded up and ready to head home

4 hours later shes home

Bed full of compost and scrap metal

My less that desireable work space to do all this work

No more compost and a solid bed

Little to no rust under the truck

Cylinder head off. Lots of rust stuff sitting loose on the tops of the pistons but it all vacuumed out

got the windshield frame freed up
