HMMWV Mirror Alternative Options?

Having rubbed my passenger side mirror off on a tree at the Graves Mountain rally earlier this month I am looking for replacements.

I don't care for the military options, especially in that the captured nut in the HMMWV mirror will eventually rust and I won't be able to adjust the mirrors as fully (like now on the ones I have/had).

Has anyone installed a universal fit option and how do you like it? I'm open to suggestions for an alternate option.

Do you have hard doors? Some have modded h1 mirrors onto the doors.

Great question Dock Rocker. Thanks for asking. No, I do not. I should have mentioned my setup, my mistake.

I have a 1987 M998 with soft top and soft doors. I had the standard military mirrors with standard two bracket setup bolted to the A pillars. It would seem the best bet is some kind of universal bolt-on truck mirrors, but searching for that is maddening due to all the results displayed.

Thanks again,

I purchased the "Double Nickel " mirror heads which are the same size and fit within the original mirror hoops but use a single arm mount so they tilt up and down and swing in and out.

The amg westcoast morrors swing in and out and tilt. The tilt is achieved by moving the top and bottom bolt forward and backward in thd slots.

Thanks for the ideas Gents. The Double Nickel lead got me to eBay where I found some good listings for both those products and from ROSCO. I'm sifting through them now. Double mirrors are expensive, but good sized 6.5"x10" flat mirrors seems to be readily had for a good price.

I'll post the results when I get my hands on 'em and get them mounted.

I liked the original HMMWV mirrors. They just had one arm coming to the middle of the back. And just one mirror per side.
And they lasted about a week before they Turned into a big floppy mess. The vibrations were so bad they were useless. They looked a little better but the design was horrible. That’s why they replace them.
