The magic elixir to cure this problem is Diesel Mechanic in a Bottle. Apply full strength to the gummed parts and let it work for half an hour. Then try moving the control lever. Repeat until free.

Opps! Now what? Replacement parts?
Reinstall it and hope it doesn't leak. Keep an eye on it though. After running it hard bring it home and remove cover. With the engine running see if anything is coming out that shaft. If it is then that fuel is going straight into the oil pan so I needs to be fixed.

Thanks so much for your help. Will do. This site has some great helpful guys!
PS. is that a replaceable part?
No longer. You will need to find a good used injection pump. Also those pieces are mated together. They cannot be interchanged from other pumps. I'm referring to the shaft and housing pieces. Almost all parts are interchangeable just not the "Hydraulic Head" and "fuel shaft assembly" parts. Both those have machined together parts.

Thats my luck! I will keep an eye on it, already bought the o-ring for that piece and will replace it asap. Thanks again. Wish I lived close to you guys!
