I've used a needler on my truck and it works good. Just make sure you have on some good safety glasses. Pieces of paint and rust will fly everywhere.

Nice work bro. How did the needler work? There was probably some "Ft. Knox" mud still up in some areas.
Needler worked great, but like Redpawn mentioned, debris goes everywhere. Especially cramped up in the lower bowels of the truck. At one point, I had to lay across the top of the rear differentials to get way up in there. learned pretty quick into the power washing that goggles weren't enough protection. Coveralls, a face shield and goggles were the best I could do. Didn't mind being wet all day doing it, since it was pretty hot in all the garb.

After you get the plugs out, you should consider buying some of these "Fumoto" drain valves. All you have to do is turn the lever and out goes the oil.
I have had no problems since I installed mine this last spring. Makes changing the oil a breeze !

Rusty, which size did you use? I went to the Fumotousa.com site, but I couldn't find a listing for Kaiser Jeep, AM General, or REO. I also checked for Military, Kia, Ssangyong, & Bombardier (licensed foreign makers of the Deuce) and found nothing. These look like a great idea, but sure don't want to get the wrong ones.

Your truck but why would you install it on a off road truck? Has to be the worst thing for a off road truck.

Agree Allen and even on road a good size peice of trash or tire tread could knock it off. Don't know if you have already put a air dryer on your Deuce but that would be a better choise if you wanted to add something.

If you have ever seen what moisture does to and air pack you would install an air dryer. They got smart on the A3 with the CTIS, air assist steering plus dual air packs and installed one. Nice up grade. Just sold my Deuce A3 on Saturday along with the 5 ton expandable shop van. Only five trucks left to get rid of now down from thirty.

I'm having performance problems , replaced all filters, new fuel lines, resealed injector pump, . truck starts runs good with no load. At random can't get more than 2000 rpm when in2nd gear and up ,it stumbles act's like it's not getting fuel or like it's at the governor point. Other times it runs fine 3000 rpm and pulls good. Does this sound like a in tank Fuel pump?
Runs fine at 3000 RPM? I'm surprised it isn't flying apart at 3000 RPM since the red line is 2600 RPM.

My Deuce is really a tribute truck so I haven't taken it off-road. Last time I took it down a dusty dirt road, it took me 12-hours to get it clean again for showing. I understand what you're saying & there is a possibility that the drain valve might get stuck on the roof of some Prius or Miata, but those are few & far between. Muhahaha :whistle:

I would love to get a 5 ton but I'm sure the wife would divorce me if I did. After all I spent all of last summer getting rid of all my trucks and tractors and a few cars. I only kept the Air-Force Deuce and one 1954 REO Deuce. Though I REALLY REALLY wished I could have kept the 1944 Marine M5 6X6 . The problem was it was so rare I couldn't find parts for it.
My wife said "You can have ONE." I researched a lot of different MVs (M813, M977, FV103 Spartan, Saracen, M923, Ural 4320, & M35A2) and the logistics to maintain each of them. In the end, the M35A2 was the most doable and after finding a beautifully restored 1969 Kaiser Jeep just a couple hours drive from home, that sealed the deal. I haven't looked back yet!:clinto::beer::jumpin::driver:

Rusty, after reading all these posts about Skookum, I checked eBay & found this 10-ton snatch block. I am a bit confused though as in the description it says 4-ton lifting capacity. Well, it if can pull 10-tons, why could it only lift 4-tons? Am I missing something or does this object sound a bit fishy.

Looks like not a bad deal cause shipping would be I bet close to 80 bucks but it says free. The 4 ton is for over head lifting and if it was not marked some fool would try and over head lift 10 tons. CYA or cover your azz.
Believe that block is issued to the 5 ton truck with 5/8 line but it would work. No need to go to 20 / 30 ton blocks on a Deuce. That block will out work your Deuce winch sear pin.

Well on one of my M35A@'s, in resonce to a spongy brake pedal, I adjusted all the brake shoe to drum clearances, and then bled the hydraulic sysem. But the brake pedal is only about 1/2 up from the floor before it activates the shoes> What ccould it be?
What is that shredded armadillo looking thing in the lower left in your photo?
