This month has been a roller coaster. Work has been busy. Stuff with the kids. Right now is the Georgia Rally that Clint Copeland hosts. Then there was the scare with Jack (puppy got into rat posion) yesterday. Today I've been trying to pull off a miracle with my trailer, but a wrong part puts it out of commission until next week. I had planned on unveiling the newest vehicle at the rally. But it looks like that's not happening. So here it is. My Daimler Ferret MK1. I've been working on it for a month now or so and it's mobile now. The plan is to pull the transmission out to replace a few seals and clutches. While it's out, I'll paint the interior. And then work the fenders and have the exterior sandblasted for paint. Hopefully come spring I'll have it ready for some car shows and crusing around.

I'm going to probably adapt a hmmwv turret to it and fit it with a self built turret and add a few more extras to it. (NV periscope, air conditioning, 12v accessory circuit, comms, cameras)

The mk1 is only rated for .30 cal. Later variants have thicker armor.

Not that I plan on testing it.

Got the ratty wiring for the lights removed. Replaced it all with some silver clad wire I removed from a AM transmitter. Replacing everything to LEDs. Used packard connectors as well.

Work is hectic now with us trying to bring on more beds for the covid 19 pandemic. I've been tinkering with it some in the evenings and today I was off for the first time in a few weeks. I've installed a painless wiring universal harness and panel along with some gauges. All the external wiring is complete. Working on PM stuff but I've got a tag and insurance on it now. If my mirrors show up tomorrow I'll be taking it out for a cruise.

Got a little more work today. (Great outlet to get away from a computer screen during these times!) I installed a boat fuel tank inside the hull out of some scrap angle I had laying around. Prior to that, I had just a gas tank strapped to the rear fender. Getting closer to having the carb dialed in now too. But I did get out and put a few miles on it today. Everything seems to be in working order now. Also Jack apparently has claimed the ferret as his own.
