Thanks for the reply. I will check that when it warms up a little it's -3 this morning. The previous owner said last time he ran it it would only idle. Could it possibly be stuck part wayWith just the in tank fuel pump running ( motor not running ) the fuel is always returning to the tank after it goes through the injection pump. With motor running same thing it is a circulatory system. So she will fire up on starting fluid but not stay running. You could try and look over the trouble shooting manual but as long as we have fuel flowing through the head / IP they should start and at least idle. Most problems we see here are problems with something wrong in the Head unit not the whole injection pump. You could start with the easy check of the fuel control unit assembly that is under the shut down cover. If the truck has been shut down and left correctly with the shut down cable pulled out and the fuel control unit assembly is getting sticky or stuck it will not run / start.
