I am thinking of purchasing a cargo extension kit for my HMMWV. My vehicle has been converted to a 4 door hard top. Do any members have any pics of what the extension kit might look like installed with a 4 door hard top? I have attached some pics to show what my vehicle looks like now. Thanks in advance.

I have a tan complete cover kit new in the packaging. I also have a complete frame and mounting brackets if you need. I’m never going to use it. Hit me up if you’re interested.

GMVs had an optional vinyl cargo cover kit, below is the only known photo I have seen so far. GMV in Afghanistan I believe.
That is exactly what I want to do. I am setting up a GMV clone and would love the soft top cargo cover capability.

Maybe just cut down some bows? How do you seal it against hard top? Velcro on Hard roof?

The vinyl wraps overtop the C Pillar cross tube, with slots cut for the 3 bolt/bushing assemblies, under the tin roof. There was a rubber seal that went between the C Pillar and the tin roof, so a strip of closed cell foam between the vinyl cover and the tin roof would not be out of the question.

Mine, I would repurpose some HMMWV cargo bed bows or custom bend a piece of 3/4" conduit to cross between the two D Pillar cargo panel brackets, held to the top cargo panel bolts with a P clamp on each side. The issue cargo cover kit only has the hinged bows at the front and rear of the cargo bed, so I don't think it would be necessary to drill holes in the center of each cargo panel for another pair of P clamps to secure a bow in the middle, may or may not hurt, especially in heavy rain or snow climates.

I suppose the rear flap you could sew in some heavy gauge clear marine vinyl for a window like the issue HMMWV cargo covers.

I have TAN 4 man crew cargo area cover kits. 2590-01-629-6008. These kits are designed for the 1165’s but the tarp & bows have the same part #’s as the 998 / 1097 series HMMWV’s. The kits I have include the parts needed to extend off of the 1165 hard top.

Good looking truck. Where did you get the cargo net above the tailgate. I’d like to do the same thing.

I have the four man setup and I setup the modified two man troop seats to fit the four man setup. The standard four man cargo cover will not fit this setup unfortunately as it is too wide with the troop seats. I replace the old side boards with mahogany 1x6s.
