I was looking through my pictures and I ran across this one. The picture was while I was looking for a leak. This is a 1999 m1083A1 rear most axle.
It looks like the ball joint is loose on the control triangle (not sure what it is called). Look at the gap and the threads showing. Or is that gap part of the design for this part?

can’t look at the truck tonight, so thought I would post.

Not sure - but is that some sort of "muffler" clamp on the torque rod? That seems odd, but maybe it is different than the trucks I have crawled under?

It secures a piece of metal holding an air valve. Each leg of the torque rod has a u bolt clamp

The gap is normal. Its a torque rod.

You can even see it in several GP listing pictures
Thanks Wes..... I am used to seeing no gap on ball joints, so when I saw a gap, it looked off. Also the nut looks barely on.

Thats the upper triangle that mounts to the middle axle. I believe it should be bolted down there shouldnt be threads exposed like that. I can take a pic of one when I get to work.
