Can any M880 owners help me with some details for my models?

Here is a mockup of my M887. I am also doing an M890 at the same time. These first two will be done as Air Force vehicles in Strata Blue. Yes, I know that the vast majority of these vehicles were green and used by the Army, but I seem to recall seeing some of these running around McConnell AFB in Wichita KS when I was growing up there. I also intend to do a few other M890s, one in standard green, one in CARC, and one in Marine tan.

Now for my questions. Can any of you provide me with interior photos of your M890 or variant? I am trying to get details to paint up the inside correctly, and I am not finding any photos anywhere online. I would also appreciate an underhood shot. I am most curious what color the engine block was done in (and other accessories). I assume it was the standard Dodge Blue for that vintage, but I don't want to guess wrong.

Any help that members of this website can provide will be very much appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Unless the Air Force painted the interior blue, the factory base interior colour is Green 34079 for the metal surfaces.

Looking forward to seeing that completed. [thumbzup]

See post by VTM880 right before your post in 880 forum for a nice interior pic. Yup engine is blue, air cleaner black, inner fenders and firewall black. Frame was unpainted. All sheetmetal olive drab.

First, I apologize for the condition of my truck. It's an M882, I rescued it from being scrapped and have fixed it enough to use it around my property. I'm not sure what things have changed since it was built, the exterior definitely but I think many of the other areas have not. Lower dash looks semi-gloss black, instrument surround and glovebox door black as well. Engine was basic Mopar blue and sheetmetal in the engine bay green. Some details maybe not stock but neat were the registration letters on the dash certification tag are painted onto the inner doors (you can barely make it out on the passenger door under the vent window), and mine has the tire pressures on the dash as well as on the fenders over each wheel. Good luck with that on a model!

Here are pictures of my M880/888. The engine under paint is Dodge blue painted over with Green. When I replaced the front crank seal, pan gasket, water pump, timing gear, sprocket, chain I painted the timing cover, oil pan (pan first coat was blue then green then under coating) and water pump blue. When I do an off frame I will go back to original. This truck is an 880 with a 888 telephone maintance bed. The 888 truck the bed came off of had seen better days, so the county that received both truck through the DRMO program made the swap. I also have a M887 that I am starting to do a full off frame restore it need alot of body work even though it has only 17K miles. If I can help you with your project let me know.
