I will pass this along, thank youThe typical failure with the 1025 alternator is the regulator. This is assuming it's the standard 60 amp alternator and hasn't been upgraded to the 100 or 200 amp alternator. They can be found on the auction site for between $60 and $100 or can be purchased from Southern Automotive so unless you have burned coils or siezed bearings or broken alternator mounts they're often worth repairing for a fraction of the cost of a new one. The regulator comes off the rear of the alternator with just 6 screws and once inside take a good look at the brushes, brush block and slip rings for wear and blow out any carbon dust you find inside. After you get everything back together you'll need to reset the regulator output voltage which is done with a phillips head screwdriver by adjusting a pot located under the hex pipe plug next to the connector block. Turning the pot clockwise lowers the output voltage, turning it counter clockwise increases it. Set the output voltage for ~28 volts. Here's a link to Southern Automotives regulator:

You want to disconnect the negative battery lead before removing and refitting the alternator for safety.
