Who says a farm truck can't look fancy??

Treated my big farm girl this past weekend and cleaned up/painted her wheels and gave the tires a nice dose of tire foam. Bling!!

A couple of weeks ago I hit the bed with some red oxide, coated the very front section with bedliner (where water constantly pools no matter what and really rusts out the deck and sides) and put a good coat of enamel on the rest. It won't look this good for long once we really kick into gear at the farm and she gets back to work but it adds some protection and will help to preserve the bed. And she looks spiffy for a bit :)

Yea, the thick stuff that fills small cracks. I usually end up sanding most of it off before spraying. Good autobody guy I am NOT! But I reckon it looks good enough from a distance
I need to get going on some rust spots on my truck. I'll try sanding/grinding off the heavy stuff then use a liquid called Metal Prep to clean the rest then rinse and prime. I think the Metal prep stuff is just phosphoric acid. Your truck looks good!

Picked up a load of goodies from the junkyard and got started on my turbo project. Should have that done in a couple weeks then I’m gonna get rid of the pos allison. I’m off work til July so it’s a good time to get it done. The small manifold in the picture is off a 5.9. It’s funny that the 5.9 had more power.

I was at my warehouse for some other stuff and my 5 ton hadnt been started in 2 years I had my charger sitting there but thought I would give it a try before I put the charger on, let it crank over for 5 seconds stopped for a bit then tried again and about 5 seconds into the 2nd crank she fired up. Good oil pressure right away and everything sounded good. Hopefully have it back on the road in a few weeks!

Installed a Reese receiver for the big truck. Sometimes you just don’t need the pintle hitch and the reese with a 6” drop has worked for me on the last couple trucks. No issues towing a 20’ boat.2DE685A3-02E2-4286-86CD-06F95C5C73B8.jpeg
I’ve also started stripping the accessories along the frame to remove the expansible van body. It’s got a new stabilizer kit, power cord,
and real, ground rod/cable kit, and ladder but I just need to turn this truck into a LWB tractor. If anyone is interested in the 934 body and accessories , hit me up.

What model reese is that? Any fab work or does it line up with the frame rails?

its a v-6. I reversed the outside brackets when I cut them and added the 6” plate. With the lips turned in the width is perfect. The plates put it at a perfect height not to interfere with function of the pintel hitch. Two of the three holes on each side of the Reese hitch even lined up with the rivets on the frame so I drill them out for the bolt holes. B90C4B22-02E3-4B44-879D-F3B2C37A9CA0.jpeg

Roughed in the pyrometer and pulled out all of the seat cushions to get re-covered. Bought some cordura nylon in OD off Amazon. 3 yards for $45. And it is the real stuff. I was able to do the bench seat back and letting local stitch guy do the other three.

Finally got the interior back together with newly stitched seats, finished pyro Install, 24 to 12vdc converter, two small fuse blocks, one in battery compartment and one under dash, and the pump is turned way up and now time to start working it back down to keep from blowing a gasket.

All that smoke and my 915 is already a mile in front of you before you even moved 5ft!

A6AD940E-FD62-4DB9-A63A-89461ACE4135.jpegReplaced the fuel shutoff solenoid on my 934. Does anyone know what the arm that is bolted onto the fuel pump and is manipulated by the solenoid is called? I can only describe it as a rocker lever and mine has a crack. Searching for a replacement.

I drove the Ram and my wife drove the M923 to get all diesel tanks topped off ahead of this storm. Wasn't going to fill up the M923 but realized it has a drain plug in case I need more diesel for the MEP 803. We will be without power a while this time.
