May I suggest that you begin reading and STUDYING the TM's (Technical Manuals) for the M35A2 as soon as you can get started. They are exactly what Uncle Sam did for the 18 year old, 120 lb. G.I.'s to whom he entrusted these trucks in his armed services.

Greetings!

I have my first ex-military vehicle inbound and arriving tomorrow! It is a 1970 AM General M35A2! I will post pics once its parked and settled in...
I will be scouring the forum looking for information and reaching out to forum members with questions im sure.

Lots of Deuce information available here... You already mentioned pictures... Post plenty and as you start projects - snap a few before and after pics. TM's as PDF's are worthy of loading on your smartphone (just in case).

Might be a good idea to get yourself an ammo can and toss in a few wrenches, screwdrivers, some pliers and/or channellocks, and a hammer. That way if you end up needing to adjust something - you have tools on the truck where ever you happen to be. There is a pretty good toolkit thread on here. The list was created for the LMTV but it will get the thought process started.

At the front of the bed like pictured there are usually long bolts with some springs on them. That bed looks to be swapped onto the truck of course so that would explain those bolts.

Those locknuts on the frame remind me of the earlier contract deuces, and maybe a tapered engine side panel I see? Just curious, is the passenger side rear engine mount bolted or riveted to the frame?
