# 1 -I’m trying to get my M813 road legal is there a switch on the transmission that I cannot find to activate the reverse lights? #2 - Has anyone made something work for reverse lights? To pass safety it must automatically come on when shifted into reverse.
Thank you.

Seeing as you are from North of the border, your "legality" requirements are a mystery to the rest of us (no offence Neighbours), so you'll have to enlighten us re reverse requirements. If absolutely necessary - you could put a simple contact switch on a bracket above the gearbox to pick up the reverse position of the gear lever...

You have to plumb a pressure switch into the air line for the reverse sprag. I don't know the part number for the switch, but it is a military part. Then run a wire from the stop light switch, that will be your hot wire. It will only come on when you turn on your stop lights and have air pressure. Then run your wire to the back up light.

I followed MyothersanM1's method. This worked for me, and I recommend it to any with an M809.

To do what you’re saying, sounds like all you’d need is any old brake light switch from an air brake truck.

Pretty much. I found a switch for a different military truck. The one I have on my truck uses the packard electrical connectors. I also used some Y connectors too.
Pretty easy to do, took me about an hour to mount everything up.
