MEP-806A antifreeze?

Moving on to a bigger generator at long last. I want to order all the filters and fluids to have on hand when I pick this unit up next week. I have the TM's and maybe I am overtired, but I cannot for the life of me find the specs for the correct antifreeze to use. Anything off the shelf rated for the John Deere engine it has should work?

I think it is A-A-52624A, but how do I translate this into an off the shelf antifreeze? I see talks about SCA's and using the wrong antifreeze can destroy the liners... I never knew coolant could be so complex.

Personally, I would go to the local John Deere dealership and buy some "Cool-Gard II", which is their brand of heavy duty coolant. It's what JD would put in that engine when it's in their tractors.

Just curious, what are you upgrading from? What do you run that you require such a large machine?

5500 sq ft house with shop and climate controlled barn and rv plug. Had a 17kw that couldn't handle all the load so had barn on a separate generator.

Dang! As far as coolant goes, I use the red heavy duty stuff. Shell Rotella ELC, my buddy buys it premixed in 55 gallon drums. He works on a lot of busses so he keeps that and Rotella oil on hand.
