Is there a standard 3116 alternator?

Playing off of the standard 3116 starter thread: Is there a standard 3116 alternator that would be used on a 3116 in a loader excavator or dozer? A single voltage, 24 volt, maybe 50 amp or so? The availability of this part will support the reduced complexity approach I take with my build.

Yes. Any J180 short hinge alternator will work

24si. 33si 40si.

24si and 33si are the lowest amps

9W-3043 is the cat P/N used in the IT28 tool carrier. It’s 52A@24V and paired with 2 group 31 batteries(100AH/25A acceptance) In series. What batteries are you running? For the 4 battery 6TL config using wet cells 52A would be slightly overloaded trying to meet 60A acceptance charge. With 4 AGM’s it would be grossly overloaded trying to meet a 108A acceptance charge requirement.

I run two 6TAGMs in series, mounted between the frame rails above the rear axle.batteries.jpg
