Injection pump question

Ordered a rebuilt injection pump, old one was leaking bad. Anyway received it today and I noticed a difference. ( see picture)The old one has a spring loaded shaft coming out of the center of the front, where it attaches to gear, rebuilt one does not? Do I need to switch it over, if so how? What is it?

Switch it...it just pulls out

The plunger and spring are removed and transferred to the new pump
