Worth it? For sure. It is a nice afternoon project. I have only rebuilt one air pack, step by step, and it was not difficult. At least I know it is done right.
With the "new" ones these days you don't know what kind of shelf Queen you get for 500 bucks, that sat somewhere since 1995, with the lube totally hardened internally and the pack not working.
I am sure some members can tell stories about that.

You will tear the stupid cork ring gasket out of the kit that seals the cap. It won't stretch enough. I can't remember if I used gasket maker or made a gasket but it seems to happen quite regularly.

So, $90 or $500 with a question mark....I'd rebuild my pack.

😊 Thanks for the reply.
Is there one kit brand better than others or just one manufacturing for all brands.

Hi. I rebuilt my air pack earlier this year and it is working great. You need to determine if you have a long (older style) or short (newer style) pack. Mine is the short pack. I ordered a rebuild kit from member @Monkeyboyarmy and it came with everything I needed. There is also a good write up on how to rebuild it step by step at the top of the deuce page. Good luck to you, feel free to ask any other questions you may have.
