What have you done to your 10 ton this week?

I was very surprised that every grease fitting on this old very patina 10 ton took grease with no problem after sitting for over 20yrs in south Alabama...getting ready to ease around the neighborhood in the next week or 2, still have to get some seat's mounted in it as they were completely rotted and rusted away.
It will be the first time it's moved down the road under it's on power in all those year's.

Don't forget the most important grease point on the truck: the one on the bell crank in the brake linkage between the left frame rail and the left side of the transmission. The foot pedal is remote from the applicator valve mounted on the frame. The linkage contains the aforementioned bell crank that has a grease fitting. If this bell crank binds the brakes will either drag or you will not be able to build air pressure. Don't forget to check the gear oil points on the steering knuckles to lube the bevel gear sets in the steering knuckles. 2ea per side. Burn up the bevel gears and you will likely junk the truck because nobody has those.

Now that it is running good I say take a break from the M123A1C and put your efforts back into the M125. That will give you plenty of time to decide on paint/no paint.
That is a deep philosophical question: “Which one of my 10 tons will I work on this week?”

ok… admittedly, I may be a bit jealous.

But seriously, I am enjoying this thread! Please keep posting!

Reference post 71 on lubrication: Hope you have a lube order so you don't forget anything. In addition to the aforementioned fitting on the bell crank for the air brake linkage there are grease points on the anchor pins for the brakes and many on the winch andn the winch driveshaft. If you can get the floor up there are more on the pivots for some of the levers going to the cab. And so on .
