Hello Gents. Bringing this one back up for a question. Will the Autozone half shafts work on an A2 truck as well? I know they are not as heavy. I'm only wondering if they would fit. I thought a lot of the Hub stuff would be different on the A2 vs. the A0, but its not. Only the addition of another seal. So I'm thinking they will fit, but before I let them go with my M988 I would like clarification. Thank you!
No, A2 and newer have 12k shafts, which are incompatible with the earlier shafts.
The difference is in the size of the splines in the input gear in the hub. You would have to replace that gear for it to work.

Thank you ALL! That is what I needed. I have 3 new ones left only missing one rear which was installed. Make an offer for all three if your interested before I sell them with my M988. Thanks again!

Morning All, I'm trying to understand the different half shafts and what uses what. My M1045A2 has a "Gross Weight Maximum" 10300 LBS. Does that mean my Truck would have 10K half shafts originally installed? Would the GWM # be 12000 LBS for 12K Half shafts? Just try to understand this a little better. Thanks in advance!

IF you look up your truck in the parts TM you would see that it is a code B24 and uses the A2 (12K) half shafts
