I have 1987 M998 with a damaged gearbox that needs replacing. It's stamped with the part number 5687962. I found one on eBay with the same number stamped on it, but the hose fittings are different sizes. Any idea where I can find a replacement steering gearbox?

That part number isn't in the parts manual that I can find.
It also doesn't come up in PartTarget, a website that has pretty much every part number in it that has an associated NSN (government part numbering system number basically)
You should probably go to the TM section and download the parts manual (the manuals ending in -24P with -1 and -2 after them are for parts) and find the correct part number.
The part number you posted is showing as going to a mid 60's pontiac in the quick search I did for it.
