I’m fully insured with Hagerty today!
I asked about insuring my 2007 Hummer H2 while I had him on the phone. I have heard from some members that said they wouldn’t do anything that wasn’t 20 years old or older. He said that it meets the qualifications for them as long as it’s not a daily driver. He did say that they don’t cover off-road. He said that you can go off-road as in dirt roads to your camp or whatever you are doing but sand dunes and rocks are not covered. I will continue to look for other places to get coverage. I don’t know how often I would want to do anything like the dunes and stuff but I would like the option to go wherever I want.

Thats awesome man. I tried again with Hagerty and Grundy boyh said no due to age. Ended up just getting full coverage thru Progressive wait for 6 or 8 years to get Hagerty lol.

Once I get my title and plates I will try progressive because I’m not happy with having to worry about what surface I’m on.

You can get movers permit online I believe. I don’t know if you need one because you just got it and you have to have appointment for dmv, mine is for December 6th and I’m driving it until then. Not my fault they are run by idiots….

Mine is a 2002. Did you do the online quote? It’s my understanding that military vehicles are separate and don’t have any year restrictions. The girl on the phone ran everything and said it went thru with no issues. Maybe because mine is so close to 20 years old?
How did you manage to get through? Mines is a 2002 and they told me I couldn't get it insured because its not 20 years old yet

I just called and they said they would do my 2007 H2 also. I didn’t ask for classic insurance. I did get a large envelope from them in the mail today and have yet to open it but I’m thinking it’s my packet for my policy. New models come out in September anyways so I would think 2002 would be classified as 20 years old anyways

Just opened it and it’s my policy and welcome packet and proof of insurance cards. I did read on the 3rd page and it said classic insurance policy. Hope it helps

Stopped by DMV on Sahara first VIN inapection then Emissions lab and those guys were already saying its not gonna be street legal due to emissions. Prepare for a big fight with NV DMV

.
Just keep reminding them that you didn't remove any sort of emissions equipment.
That the truck is as it came from the factory needs to be the first thing you say. Nicely of course...

Seems to me that little federal EPA exemption sticker should be good enough for us too.

What is the emissions lab? Did you have a title or SF-97?

I live in NH, and just signed up with American Collectors Insurance. I just paid $403 for the year to cover a 2009 M1123 with 4k miles and what I'd describe to be in "very good" condition. There are a few catches (of course): 1. the truck has to be garaged, 2. you have to reasonably expect to attend a collector show with it, 3. No actual off-roading, and 4. it can't be your daily driver or even a back-up vehicle. Just like the company's name implies, if you treat your truck as a collectible, you can insure it for pretty cheap through ACI and the coverage is, I think, really good. Three tows per year, reimbursed for $250 each.
