Went down to Albany the other day to pick up some tires. I'm running 2004 tires so it's about time to swap them out.
Upon loading 9,000 pounds of tires the 1084 it blew out it's exhaust manifold/turbo gasket and it felt like I lost 100 hp. It crawled back home with barely any power and acceleration and spewed black smoke out the exhaust pipe and under the cab.

On the way down there we also pulled out a stuck semi

It looks like I got some heavier duty wheels, maybe off a caiman mrap? They measure the same but are .425 in thick vs .285 for a normal lmtv wheel. Anyone know anything about them?

I thought of you today as I sat in my cab with a rattle can of Rustoleum spraying my rusty heater (why BAE did such a crappy job with paint in the late 2000's is a shame). I even used some blue masking tape in a few places. I did leave the windows open so most of my brain cells (from this morning anyway) are still intact.

Painting is hard.

How has your truck held up overall with the salt air?

Fine given that the CARC paintjob was shit. I mist a little Oshpho on surfaces like the leaf springs that can catch some mild surface rust. Then I hit it with a rattle can a few days later. Lasts for months between treatments.

Any nicks and scratches get a touchup of course, but overall the gen-II CARC is badass stuff. BAE just did an AWEFUL job at prep before application. I've go places on the cab roof as big as my fist where it's simply peeled away from the black primer layer. But I just bust out the camo rattle can and fix where needed. I've never had to sand any surface beyond the heater (that was damned near bare metal it has such a bad application). Two years on the Island and I just know decided it was time to address it (just didn't want to harm the metal).

No rust on frame and the plastic-coated cab floor (behind and below seats as well as foot pan) just gets hosed out. Looks like new and no indications of sub-coating issues.

Where did you find your levometer?
.
I think everybody got a levometer in/on their truck - except you Chucky.
Wonder what happened there...? Wonder who stole yours?

I have looked and so far - I haven't seen one that wasn't attached to a truck.

That surplus version is just absolutely RIDICULOUS.
Post #836 is pretty impressive. And it is less money. A lot less with more features!
