As for the collectors blocking it, I am not surprised. Organizations of collectors want the special licensing gravy boondoggle belonging fees, aka Chamber of Commerce Occupational Licensing mafia (yes, the thugs who send swat teams because a lady has been braiding hair without a hair dresser license). Ironically the Occupational Licensing and club bunch are often "guarded hunt" country club republicans and not democrats ... Just a my hunch if you needed some helpful Intel.
you are so wrong my friend.. the states run by R normally have no issues with letting former MVs on the road, but it has to be legal and ok with the constitution of that state and the lawyers... states run by Ds have a far harder time getting vehicles on the road... they could offer 10k a year for lic fees and still not have a chance... and no not really helpful.

Yeah, it is a given the Ds want the least amount of hardware that could be used in a resistance against a massive chicom invasion in Alaska and accross the border what not.

i was just pointing at the misguided pretty fools on the other side of the aisle who only care about their resumes and club priviledges.

By the way, I would be interested to help, if ever to learn the process you have established. This is quite a feat.

its simple, find out how the board of directors for the mvpa is doing to help the hobby, then do the exact opposite.... currently they are doing NOTHING to help pass laws to help the hobby or defending owners loosing there rights... so i step in... 5 wins in 3 years.

I see. I do remember in college going on a representatives field trip to learn a bit about promoting causes. I might dust off the technique. I wonder if contacting a friendly local group already with an ear in those alcoves could cue me in too with appropriate phone numbers.

I am getting stuck on a fundamental incompetence of police/DMV out west. I am in Phoenix trying to get a police officer to sign a Florida DMV vin check and none of them will drive to my truck lot to do it so I can make a plate in Florida to drive it there.

Sheriff says lot is out of his jurisdiction, local PD tells me to drive it to DMV and StatePolice tells me to pay $80 a private company that does it but that is now not sure they can sign an out of state form. Besides, it is not a given, because in California I got a temporary moving permit because the lady at the DMV would not sign it either. These people are unbelievable.

This incredible incompetence and deferment of competence at every turn to another party is staggering. It is a violation of interstate commerce, imo. All these states making difficulties in registering MV or with incompetent Police told not to sign VIn checks are an absolute violations of interstate commerce - because commerce is a competency!

I cannot blame “capitalism” when government incompetence is what drives this sort of legal bribery and when government agents are so willing to say “I’m a bureaucrat, designed to be stupid or cowardly, someone else can do it better than I”.

it comes to the point that I am seriously considering starting a business of having vehicles registered in !exico, where maybe I find someone competent to sign stuff off for me. Besides, I bet down there they would love buying back MV, but it is unnerving to see key businesses like these potentially going South, to be diplomatic about the kinds of people they are.

By the way, I have zero problem like these with police in Florida or Indiana. Vin check? No problem! Heck, in Georgia the Sheriff will even come on military posts to talk to soldier wives whose husband they locked up downtown, investigating. It tells me that this anti-police movement is a dumbing down of police out west. There is something deliberate to it.
