My tailgate has many dents from the pintle hitch. I'd like to replace it. The tailgate on it is plain, no writing. I've seen AM General tailgates and was wondering what years had what or were the AM General tailgates used on specific models? Is there any rhyme or reason or where they just randomly put on? Any ideas on where I might find one would also be helpful. Thanks

Mine had a flat panel riveted to outside. Under it was the Am General Lettering.. See if you have a raised panel with perimeter rivets.. I drilled em out and the panel came off..

I was really glad to have gotten mine with the AM General wording but didn't realize once I put on the Rhino tire carrier and tire you can't see the tailgate. LOL

Can you post pictures of your convoy light set up and how you made it?

Found some pics online of the gear I used. Bolted the brackets to the wooden slats and wires the strobes to a switch in the dash. I used canvas water buckets with the wires removed as beacon covers. The fit perfectly and look the part.

I have to ask why you keep blacking out your license plate in all your pictures. Seems kind of odd when your driving around in such a recognizable vehicle .
I'm sure your license plate gets captured on more cameras then you would ever imagine every time you drive it.

I noticed you have a soft top with hard doors, i also have this set up. Have you managed to keep the water out around the doors?

No not really. I have those add on corner pieces but haven't installed them with rivets yet. I have to replace the windshield rubber molding as it's old and let's rain in. Always something with these truck.

Yes, i have the same corner pieces and have not installed yet. They look ugly on the corner and i am afraid is going to cut my soft top. Was thinking about making my doors in aluminum and to the exact size needed.
