m917 won't shut down.

I've done a bit of searching on this subject, but have come up empty.

Our 917 sporadically wont shut down when the key is switched to the off position. Anyone had this happen before? It doesn't do it all the time, but every now and then it will continue to run after the key is turned off. If I take and short the end of the bolt on the fuel shut off solenoid to anything metal on the engine, it will shut off.

Curious as to where I might find the troubleshooting for this in the TM or if anyone has a quick solution for this issue?

Next time it hangs up, reach under the dash and pull the connector off the ignition switch, if it kills the engine you need a new switch!

If it doesn't shut down you need a new fuel solenoid.

I put a manual shutoff on mine when I did the dual fuel line setup

It’s definitely something in the switch. It did it again this morning and jiggling the wires on the back of the switch shut it down immediately. Gonna clean em all up and see if that helps.

Had the issue with my M920. Check the voltage on the shut off solenoid. I had a 24V shut off and only had 12V at the solenoid. Replaced it with the 12v and all is working as it should.
