So just to update everyone on the status on my venture to acquire the part. I ordered the part from Germany with help from a friend who lives in Germany. It seems the website that listed the part only sells to German addresses because of duty fees and such. The part arrived yesterday my friend took it to a local shipping broker who could prepare the paperwork and actually send it. In the end, the part is being held in Germany and most likely will not move for a week or so. The broker informed my friend that because of the war in Ukraine, all resources are being used temporarily to move items into that area. Once that task is completed, they will resume normal shipments.

This is a problem because I will soon need to pay storage fees if I am not able to move my LMTV. Additionally, I have a M1082 trailer parked at a friends house that needs to be moved next week so he can get some equipment out.

When @Ohiobenz reached out and offered to help mentioning he had a part, I did email him and we exchanged a few messages. I let him know at first, I was going to see how the German venture went. That was until I received word about the delayed shipping. I contacted ohiobenz again and he was great to work with and even offered to drive the package to the USPS today since his mail was already picked up.

Long story short, I have two parts coming. But I'm pretty sure the part from ohiobenz will be on my LMTV the first of next week and the LMTV will be back on the road again.

Well depending on how far you need to move it, it would go pretty far on fully charged batteries… portable genset and a pair of battery chargers would get you as far as you want to go…. A couple hundred watts of solar in the bed would probably keep you driving all day long…:)

Now that it's all put back together and running, did you happen to inspect the fan clutch?

The older versions tend to fail and send the fan thru the radiator.

The mod was done by the military to a lot of these trucks, but not all. My first LMTV had suffered the fan failure when the previous owner had it.

There are a number of threads here on the topic, but it's worth the time to inspect (radiator removal, repair/replacement is a huge pita).
