HMMWV seats or LMTV?

I found these on eBay after looking for a driver's seat that would recline. Can anyone tell me the truck they came out of?

Or does anyone have an option to make the oem commanders seat recline?

The b-pillar behind the drivers seat will keep you from reclining unless you are really short. Best seats for Humvee are the ones they came with. You can get new ones from Mac Motors for 325.00 each I think.

I'm 6'3. So thats a no go for me. I've seen Mac motors has them and also Amgeneral sells bottom and back for around 300 last time I checked.

I wouldn’t cut it out either. I have really nice caravan seats that I wanted to install but after I tried I didn’t think they fit and you would need to cut 3” out of the seat bottoms to make them fit right. I will get new oem seats and might dye them black.

That thought has crossed my mind many times as I stumbled out in shorts, a t-shirt, and some fancy-schmancy light weight hiking boots. I was riding shotgun on a test ride in a fully armored rig a few weeks ago and it suddenly started to overheat and blow steam out from under the hood. We pulled over and I more than briefly struggled to unlatch and open that wildly heavy door…on the roadside in harmless Arizona. My hat is off to the guys taking rounds on the other side of the world.

Most of us big guys have to ride around in deuce and a halfs with the driver's door open cause we can't fit in em.

There is a simulator they make anyone deploying to the middle east go through where you get in a HMMWV mounted on a rig that spins it 180 degrees so its upside down and you have to unbuckle your belt, fall to the roof (now floor), find the only door that is unlocked and climb out all while wearing full battle rattle. I learned one thing that day which is that if that HMMWV is on fire and upside down, I would absolutely die immediately. Much respect to anyone that has to ride around in those things in hostile areas.

There is an AMG mod for that. It uses a block of aluminum inside the brace, after a portion is cut for seat clearance. You guys should try to fit in an armored 2-door.
Speaking of b-pillar brace, i have had a couple people tell me that they will not remove this panel after converting to 4-door. They insist it is structural. Folks, the thin vertical plate seen in this pic is NOT structural. If you put a back seat in, remove the panel to give rear passenger room for their feet. It is 3 screws up top and 3 rivets in the floor. It is only used on 2-doors to fill the big hole. And if your passenger side panel goes to the floor, there is a 4-door version that does not. ....

I used to think this was essential. My prior posts will prove it. I have changed my opinion…

Once I reinforce the rockers, that whole piece is going in the garbage and a proper seat will go in its place. Just like the civilian Humvees
