MEP-006A Generator issue

I just picked up a MEP-006A 60kw Generator at auction. I put some new batteries, new fuel and checked all the fluids. It started right up and runs perfect. The 110v "convenience plug" on the side works, and the Hertz are running right around 50-55 The problem is that it is not showing any voltage on any of the three meters. I have held the start for about 10 seconds after it is started and still no voltage. Also l, when I close the circuit the breaker light comes on. From what I have read it seems like I need to take out the voltage regulator/exciter box and see if anything is burnt up. That is my next step when I get some time. Any other ideas or information would be greatly appreciated!

Nobody wants to hear this but have you tried the TM's (Technical Manuals) for your new GenSet? Couple of pictures would be good for anything obvious.

Have you read the -12 TM operating instructions?

Before you start to tinker, start to read. If you have 120 volts at the 120 volt outlet, the gen set works. Its producing power.

So, slow down. Start the set. Check the 120 volt outlet. Got 120 volts? If so, close the CB2, Main contactor Circuit Breaker). Yellow light come on? If so, go to the left side rear, open the door and measure at LO to the 3 phases. What do you get?

OK, then do the test. Then we can find out why the meters do not work. The S8 switch is what makes the meters work. But not the hertz meter. Are you in front of the set now?
