What caused this?

Today I decided to power wash the radiator since I never cleaned it good since I got it & have yet to install my new aluminum one, I also washed the engine down as well, after that I went to drive it back and I notice about 4 miles later, the temp gauge was showing at almost 240 and the fan didn't come on so I pulled over to the side and unplug the fan switch so it can automatically come on, after that, I drove around the parking lot until it reached 200 then I plugged it back in and the fan came on as normal around 220. What was the cause of the fan not coming on around 240 since I power washed it? Take note I been daily driving this humvee for months and this was the first time the fan didn't come on at 220 and let it keep rising. Another thing to mention, I did bump the accelerator pedal on accident when I was reaching over inside to get a towel. Could this have caused it to go in deep water fording mode and completely cut the fan off the whole time?

it could be a bad connection caused by the pressure washing, or maybe the water was shorting out one of the plugs, as the connectors are not designed to withstand high pressure water.

If it were mine I would just keep an eye on things for now.
If it does it again then start troubleshooting the cooling system.

Got it, yea I think you're right, another guess is that it could've knocked the connector back some and gave it a poor connection
