MEP806B crank no start

I have an mep806b 60k gen.
initially I was not getting any fuel, turns out to be the actuator on top of the inside of the injector pump. ended up replacing the whole injector pump and now I was getting white smoke out the exhaust while cranking. After I checked the magnetic speed sensor for any wear and proper adjustment. I saw minor wear so I had replaced that as well. I'm not sure what else there is left to do to get this thing running? Please any advice on where to go from here. the fuel is fresh as well as the filters and I'm getting fuel at the injectors but no firing. the timing marks on the injector pump is aligned and I have tried with it slightly high and low.

any advice is welcome.

Has it ever run before for you? Sounds like you may have twisted wrenches on these before? Guessing that you know where to get the TM's (here, free download)? Guessing too that maybe it sat for a while - and maybe you got it at auction?

You mentioned white smoke. Maybe it sat and some of the piston rings have seized from sitting. Might be worth popping out the injectors one by one and an oil can loaded with Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) could free up those rings...

hello! Yes it had run prior but very poorly. old lacquered fuel had it running really rough and and the engine rmp was too low to to get the gen spinning fast enough to produce voltage. initially all I did was change out the filters and drain and refill with fresh diesel from there after i bled it the injector pump actuator decided to die and I went down the rabbit hole.

Who timed the injector pump/engine before changing it?
What was wrong with the Actuator?
Did you change just the I/P?
Or I/P and actuator?
Is the engine turning over fast? Or normal.
