HUMVEE Registration TX “over” 10k GVW

Hi everyone I recently was able to win an auction for a M1151A1. Before I seal the deal I wanted to ask a few questions on getting this vehicle street legal. I read that someone here was able to register their M1123, but I figured it was dumb luck as the bureaucrat may or may not have purposely used different GVW.
Now with this being said the first question I have is
1. What is the “actual” GVW im sure I don’t use the one on the data plate because that is stock from the factory and this Humvee has been stripped of all the armaments.
2. Can I go to a state inspector, weigh the Humvee and use that weight to prove that it is under 10k via weight certificate
3. Would it be better off registered as a commercial vehicle
Any feedback is appreciated as this is my first time registering any vehicle

Actually I was paying my property taxes yesterday, last day for the "discounted" amount.

I did ask and was told you can reduce the GVWR for REGISTRATION (IE license plate cost) purposes.

If you get a "clean SF-97" you will not have any issues in getting a title and regular registration, the title will still have the over 10K original GVWR on it.

The only time the over 10K is a problem is if the SF-97 is stamped "off road use only" Texas has a law allowing any HMMWV under 10K GVWR WITH an "off road use only" SF-97 to be titled and registered as a "regular" vehicle. (read great state!)

ANY former military vehicle can get "former military vehicle" registration which does come with some restrictions.

Case in point there is a guy with a mechanical Mule that has a former military vehicle plate, with that plate you do not have to get inspected. (antique and former military is only issued one plate unlike the "regular" plates)

But again the ACTUAL GVWR on your title will be the factory assigned GVWR

There were several changes to the law this year, I did not have to get a certified weight ticket with the DuraVee a few years ago but they did require me to get a certified weight ticket for my FAV this year, so you may have to get one.
Also you can no longer get a 30 day temp plate without being inspected, so when I get my FAV road worthy I have to buy 2 one way permits, 1 to the inspectors location and 1 to get home...

The DuraVee did come with an "off road only" SF-97 and I had no issues getting title and regular registration as it had a GVWR of 7700lb

EDIT, I just looked at the title for the DuraVee (M998) and it was issued without the "off road use" comment so I would assume it would be transferable to any state that registers Humvees
