I’m in the NW. Again it’s all about demand. The Olympic Peninsula seems to be where a lot of these units are going. I also sold a fleet of units last year to a guy in Eastern Washington. He and his wife run an off the grid nursery out there some place. He needed the 5kw’s to run a couple of different wells, he also bought a couple of 10kw’s and a 30kw that I had.
Just stay out of Capac, Mi. Lol.

I almost wish I could buy back ALL the ones from the first few years!
BUT... sales have dropped WAY down over the last year+ , so I think I'll leave them be!

Back in the beginning you could buy a nice 803 on a trailer for $1400 plus 10% fees and 7% tax.
Throw batteries in it, service it and I'd sell them for $3800 On the trailer!
Probably did at least 60 like that.
Then the prices started creeping up as well as the increased fees.
At one point not long ago an average 803 would go for $4000 - $5000 and higher at the auction, plus 15% fee, 7% tax and driving 17 hour round trip plus fuel!
Soon auction prices before the fees were higher than I was getting retail for a nice machine and sales were becoming very slow.
At that point I decided it was time to find another side gig!

Did you all see the trailered MEP-803A in NC that just sold for $2300? It was listed as an 831A.
Sometimes they get that wrong!! I wonder if no one saw it because it wasn't in their search or what. Thing runs too!!

Well, if you look at the tag on the machine (in the photos) it's an 803A, but the listing was for an 813A. An 813A is a little 3kw air cooled unit. That's certainly not what was shown in the photos.
So, I just went back and looked. It seems that you're correct. It is a 400 hertz 813A model. But it was listed as an 831A, not 813A. My bad.

Been quite a few 400hz anchors coming up lately. Maybe indicative of what's left in the surplus pile more than anything that they are starting to move out.

So in about 3 weeks we should see a low hour "10Kw. Diesel generator" pop up for sale on the internet with the owner claiming that you can "Dial in" the frequency.....?? Or just not saying anything at all??
Seems we've had several of those over the last couple years.... Owner buys a paperweight, figures out his mistake, then tries to play dumb and pawn it off on someone desperately in need of a good generator, rather than just sucking it up and paying for their mistake.
If you question them about 400hz they say you can dial it down with the throttle.... Yea, that diesel will make great power at 300 RPM!

Did this post go off the rails here at some point??

But think of how great the fuel efficiency will be at only 300RPM... where do I sign up?
