Rear transmission seal

Anyone have the past number for the rear transmission seal on the 4spd?
I was leaking between the transmission and Transfer case. Is the transmission supposed to leak when the cross member is out and the transmission is angled down? I saw these holes and saw that fluid was coming out which caused the leaking

IIRC the TC input is sealed and it is wet between them (trans not sealed), what I do not understand is how there could be SO much sealer on that surface, they should have been bolted together flush with only a thin layer of sealer between them....
EDIT, I think the seal you see is because the transmission is pushing fluid into that shaft to operate a clutch

So that's normal?

You need to remove all that old sealer that's on both cases.
It does not look like they were bolted together correctly as I said there should only be a thin layer of sealer on that surface.
Why did you pull the TC?

I pulled the transfer case because I lost drive. I pulled it and everything was OK. Checked the differential thinking that was the next culprit. Nope it was all good. The 6 bolts holding cv axles to diff flanges sheared. Got the rear end (diff and portal axles) refilled with new gaskets and got six new bolts with the nordlocks. Not I have to get the transfer case back on but it wa leaking between the transmission and the transfer case and was wondering if that was normal if the hole at the bottom was where it was leaking.

Too bad you did not get on here earlier, before you spent so much time and money chasing your tail.
The "leaking" you speak of is normal, transmission fluid is allowed into that area to lube the splined coupling, you must however clean that horrible mess someone made with the over application of sealer, it must be clean and all oil removed from the surfaces before applying a thin layer of new sealer, if the housings are not sealed correctly between the transfer case and the transmission it will leak transmission fluid.

There isn't a slip yoke. It's where the transfercase mounts to. You see the hole at the bottom? Is it supposed to be open or is there a plug there?
sorry, I wasn’t able to make out the original pic, it looked like your tail shaft on the Tcase…I was on my phone and not my iPad.
what you have is all correct, it’s wet between the trans and Tcase, the correct sealant is anaerobic sealant, you can buy it from auto parts store.
a good RTV. Is fine too…but the anaerobic is what the TM calls for and is what would have been there from the factory.
