A1/A2 steering idler clarity??

I just wonder if this is right???
I purchased A1 and A2 idlers.
They are both virtually identical, both have the same casting numbers and the dimensions are exactly the same but for one thing.
The taper is the same on both ball studs but the A1 ball stud has longer threads

Correct. The only real difference is the A2 has a thicker drag link. The only thing needed to use the A2 idler arm on the A1 drag link is a couple of washers to take up the extra length.

OK so I got them reversed, wondered if I did that as it seemed like the A2 drag link would be thicker, they both came in at the same time and I opened them together on the bench.
The drag link will be here Wed.
