IBIS tek HID to LED conversion

Has anyone successfully modified the IBIS Tek HID light bars and convert them to LED?

I was just curious if anyone had attempted or succeeded at this.

Bypassing the ballasts and re-wiring would not be super difficult. I’m more concerned about finding LED’s that would fit with as little modification as possible.

If not, has anyone replaced the IR light with red/blue flashers or something else?
Just looking for ideas to get the juices flowing!

I disassembled a IBIS Tek cube I have to get a glance at the internals. The light bars are going to be the same.

HID is just old - heavy electrical draw…. Less reliable. I also don’t have a need for the infrared which I’d like to replace with flashing lights.

Im sure you can find appropriate sized lights as replacements. Good luck and keep us posted.

Take out one of the HID bulbs and compare the base to a halogen bulb. You may be able to replace it with a regular h8 or similar bulb.
