M116A3 LUNETTE modification

Hello All, this is a photo of the LUNETTE and it's swing arms connection to the bottom of the surge brake actuator.

I need help identifying the surge actuator in the next few pictures.


Not sure if the adjustable LUNETTE is swappable with the non adjustable actuator pictured at the top.
Other then the ability to adjust the height of the hitch I was thinking I could use a ball mount for extended highway use and then back to the LUNETTE for offroad use.
Would like to know any information on the adjustable LUNETTE connection.

That style hitch is interchangeable with the pintle. It could be found on the earlier series military drash trailers, and last I knew it was still available new from certain trailer parts dealers as well.

The parts you're looking for are available from the original manufacturer Mendenhall Industries, Calvin is the owner...tell him what you're up to and he'll set you up. Croft and eTrailer charge a huge mark-up on these parts.

M116A3 - First Overland Trailer Build!

Good for you....will make a great base to build from. Apparently the A3 is a bit wider than A2. It should have free backing as well.
