Acquired a MEP-803, neglected, a project of sorts. I enjoy such a challenge.

Well, it is green...
It is a MV...
Not so much a vehicle as equipment...
Maybe we call it ME?

ANYHOW, Welcome to the Outfit! Be sure to visit the Technical Manual (TM) section to download the books on the generator and the power plant.

Tim, I will have you know, even a BAD generator Mech, would make an OUTSTANDING truck mech. I think we should change the focus of the forum to power generation. Trucks get second fiddle!

Since your in the Great State of Texas, We will welcome you to the Steel soldiers Power Generation Forum! My folks come from Wills Point, Tx.

Well, I checked the fuel injectors. 2800, 3100 3300, 2900. I read the TM. The minimum should be 3480 on an old injector. The unit runs good and recently powered the house when an outage happened. I need some schooling on injectors. My research has not found much, so far.

How did you test these Injectors?
Have you ever disassembled them and soaked them in a cleaning fluid? That could improve the pressure.

Also, I moved this thread to the Generator Forum, where it should have been all this time.
Thank for moving it. I do not always get these things right. I tested with a pressure unit I own that has an analog certified gauge. I have 3 diesel tractors, one recently in-frame overhauled. My friend (career tractor mechanic) has a professional unit. I will use his unit to confirm the accuracy of mine. I had not previously considered doing that (Trust but verify).
On my recently overhauled tractor IH 454, I used the unit to adjust the injectors for operating at an equal popping pressure. Runs great. My thought is that equalizing pressure in the injectors helps make combustion very close in each cylinder thereby improving the operation of the motor. I am not sure about that.
