M817 Master cylinder

Can not find the master cylinder vent line in the TM's. Is it for the wet fording kit to get the vent up high, or does it connect to anything on the other end for the brakes? In the Air Cav our 5 tons did not have this tube and fitting connected on the top of the filler cap. We just had a vent on top of the cap.

The standard cap just has a vent as far as I know. If there's a tube there it's either for a fording kit or a remote reservoir.
