I just won my first M1102 and live in NC. When checking out, I am trying to figure out if I only need the SF97 or the more expensive option for the 'full title cert.' Any help on how to proceed and register it in NC would be most appreciated. Thank you.
I'm in PA, picked up a trailer in the same auction and had the same question. FWIW, my local title place, who periodically handles SF97s, suggested that I pay the money. Congrats on the trailer!

I would suggest that if you get the "full title cert" you eliminate the possibility of "interpretation" at the DMV. The DMV will not accept a SF97 as a title...
I ended up going with the full title cert. There is a way to use just the SF97, but it seems to be a multi-step process and quite possibly more expensive. This would have included getting an indemnity bond for 3 years for an amount that is 1.5x the value of the trailer.
