LED blinker module suggestions

Update- so I installed some resistors on the rear lights. The led bulbs on the rear work perfectly now. I then installed them on the front and they still don’t blink when the headlights are on. They have always blinked with the headlights off and they have always not blinked with headlights on.

In addition I cleaned the inside on the blinker handle. That did nothing.

I’m not sure how the headlights/running lights affect the blink function. Maybe there is somthing wrong with the front amber led lights not being able to get brighter when running/on?

Also thought about taking resistor off the front amber lights and put them on the head lights to see what that does? Waste of time?

Yes to waste of time. It sounds like your blinkers have secured themselves an alternate power source which is your headlight power. So a resistor will just convert power to heat while you run the headlights.

No blink indicates a constant power source is feeding the fronts. You know the headlights are the gremlin in your mix. So, you should find something by following the actual blinker or headlight positive wires.

Somehow, the positive blinker lead will lead you to a connection being energized by the headlight switch.

Wish I knew more about your wiring diagram/plan to point you at the culprit.

Tried a couple more things. Cleaned up the grounds. That did nothing. Ran a diffrent wire to a good ground. That did nothing.
Read a bunch of diffrent things about leds. Does anyone know if polarity is a thing on these trucks. Read that if the lights are on it could revese polarity or somthing.

Curious does it fail in both high and low beams?
That's a great question. Could ID a source of constant power.

Now for my question. Is it normal to have the parking lights illimunated with the headlights? On my deuce, parking lights or headlights, but never both. This is different than a normal car, but by design on the deuce. We use the same flasher module and I think the switches interchange too.

So, did someone rob power from the headlights to make parking lights double as running lights? It can be accomplished but requires more than a simple tap.

I tried it both low and high beams. Still don’t blink.
I believe when the headlights are on the front turn/park lights are always on.
Hmmm I just can’t figure this one out. Maybe the 3 lever light switch?
I just don’t know the flow of power to stuff.
Also I unplugged one of the headlights to see what that would do- it did nothing.

I think it is the park lamps not the head lights, to test this there is a way to put the three lever switch into park lights only, IIRC it is the lower left lever. also I believe the switch must also be in service drive.
Test this theory out.
Also do you have LED front turn lights or are they converted incandescent fixtures?

Correct. So it has 3 wires off the top of my head I think they are 460, 92, and 21, and a fourth wire-grounding wire that comes out and mounts to one of the bolts holding it in. I attached all the other grounds to the same point/bolt. The 2 bolts have a metal piece on link them together.
I believe the 92 wire is also a ground?
Hmmm 2 grounds for the same light?

I'm lost. Too many wires for a headlight - should be 3 total to get a low beam and a high beam. So, what sorta extras does your headlight have.

E.g., I have 3 of 5 wires connected for my deuce LEDs. I am not running the DRLs or the blinkers in my fixtures ... yet.

If you have a volt meter, ID the wires by function. Find your ground first. Turn on the low beam and figure which of the remaining wires is powered. Repeat for high beam. Now connect low, high and ground on both sides and try your blinkers.

Here's hoping that 4th wire is what is through feeding your parkers.

Somewhere in the forum, from at least three years ago and probably more, someone took out the guts of their HMMWV flasher box and replaced with an aftermarket 24V unit. I’m certain you could do the same with one made to accept LED. There were pictures and instructions.
