Tire Balancing

Hello Gents,

I seem to have some wheel hop, but I have isolated it to one tire . At higher speed is goes away, but is pretty bad at lower speeds. I have some balancing beads ordered, but I’m not sure it’s the best way to balance these large tires. My local tire place would touch them.

Any suggestions?

Ya, that was the first thing I did and I even swapped it around to see if it was the tire or another issue, but it followed. There is no visible damage and when rolled by it seems fine.


I plan on getting new tires, but I am waiting until I am further along with my restoration.

I had a 11.00-20 NDCC that did this too. One day it blew out into a million pieces at 55 mph. I would not use that tire for anything other than trails.

If your tire is still good and you will want to make sure of this, the balance beads have worked extremely well for me in balancing out HEMTT rims with 1600s on them. My 920 went from 25 mph top because it was shaking so badly you just couldnt go any faster. I put 40 oz of balance beads in each tire through the valve stems and after that it was 50 mph smooth as silk!

I'm not doubting but it must have taken all day for one tire.
