What was this HMMWV trailer used to carry?

If its something that was not prototype, then there will be a data plate someplace on the frame or fenders that will tell you what it is. Look on the right fender first.

I am going to guess its a "Volcano" launcher. Avenger rounds are much smaller that the Cradles, (brackets) in your picture. And the in one picture I see some kind of system that runs wire or hoses(?) to the cradles.

In the Air Force we used similar type of bomb lifts to load 500 lbs and 2,000 lbs bombs onto the B-1 bomber. Also, we loaded FLIRs and radar equipment onto the outside. I could imagine this being a rocket loading lift for Army helicopters or gunships... Is there anything indicating what service used this trailer?Bomb Lift.JPG

On the right fender there is a special data plate but can not zoom in on it to read clearly.

At the same place, there is another "special" m1101 that looks like it was cobbled together. It is also unique but has a civy light plug and non military lights.

I’m just not seeing the hoses and cylinder(s) that y’all are speaking of. Looks like a typical M1101/1102 chassis complete with the wiring harness. Same wiring harness that I had to replace on my M1101 purchase and is even attached to the frame in the same location. Interesting in-house trailer mod though and looks hinged at the rear for vertical adjustment.

There is a cylinder underneath and it is hinged on one end to allow it to be raised as in a launcher.

Or at least vertical access, whatever it holds does not look to weigh very much
