Ok Smart People,

Im having an issue with my headlights and I did a search but not seeing this anywhere. Just about everything on my M35A2 is new/ NOS except for the frame and engine. I was getting ready for a parade tonight and we noticed that my passenger side headlight low beam would come on but then fade off after a few seconds. I have the newer style LEDs with the points on the lens. High beams work fine but wouldn't couldn't get the low to stay on. Ground is tight, connections at bulb are tight, completely NOS harnesses and NOS alternator, connections at dimmer seem fine.

Here's the kicker, I unplugged the bright wire at the headlight and the low beam will stay on but then fades out again when plugged back in. I read another post where resistors are mentioned so I guess I could try that. We haven't had time to use a meter or anything yet. I thought I would ask what else to look for. Thanks

I would verify the wire tag numbers are correct, meaning the ground wire is actually the ground wire. If everything is correct then your bulb is defective.
Well that sucks, those things are high, easy fix though so there's that.

Sorry to chime in, but I had the exact same issue with the "military" TruckLite LEDs, twice. And they ain't cheap.

Long story short, it's a defective LED. Methinks that sub-par TruckLite "military " LED s that either failed Quality Control or were rejected by the government made or make their way onto the civilian market. Essentially a ripoff.
