prestart light comes on, then goes off. Then try to start and nothing (no clicks or clunks). Batteries are good but 2 years old. Is it time for a new start box? It is only a 3 years old. I DO HAVE A KEYED IGNITION SWITCH.

This just started as the weather got cold

Found the problem. It was the ignition switch. Does anybody make a quality Non-Chinese keyed switch?
Nope... They are all garbage. You can try and find an industrial keyed switch but it may take some work to install... and more are keyed the same. You could also try a heavy equpiment switch but again more are keyed alike. I kept the milspec switch and installed a remote relay.

There is also a company selling a kit to convert the OEM switch to keyed operation, not cheap but pretty cool, but I don't have that info...

I hear good things about the Camotek boxes, but they are manual, and the button is on the box under the dash. They do make a relocation kit for the button, but you still have to hold the button. Will eventually have to look into this when the box eventually goes. Thank you
