East Coast Winter Storm - JAN 10

I just went out to check on things and the roads are covered in snow compacted and frozen solid by freezing rain. It doesn't even leave footprints when you walk on it. So far the power is still on. The trees have a decent glaze of ice but not so much that they look heavy. Yesterday I covered the generators with tarps just in case it got nasty.
The deer were hungry and attacked my hedge bushes. They look like piles of sticks now. haha
The chickens were amused yesterday by the falling snow. It gave them the zoomies. Today they are less amused with the hard packed icy stuff. One of them refuses to come out of the chicken house. Even when I put out some corn and called her she just squawked back at me. I peaked in on her when I got the eggs and she is OK. Just being cranky.
The last thing I was curious about is how the new heatpump would handle freezing rain. The old one would freeze up when we had freezing rain. The new one is completely clear. Guess technology does improve over time. We will see how the longevity part of the equation works out.

Just light snow up here, barely a dusting so far, but it just started a little while ago.
My daughter uses the same term with our dog when he come in all excited, running around crazy! He's got the Zoomies!

We have about 4 inches of snow here. Although forecast, we never got freezing rain, just more snow. Currently 17 deg. here and very windy. I was going to take my M274A5 Mule out for a drive up the mountain, but when I went outside and felt that cold wind I changed my mind! We haven't lost utility power here yet, but the MEP003A is ready.

Yeah we are at probably 2" so far, maybe another inch or so still to come? I made sure to photograph some stuff before the snow came

I had 11 here just a few months ago, mine are put in place for use and not shown. Bad economy equals slow sales in a normally busy time of year.

We got as far north as LULA. We wanted to get farther but time and fun got in the way
