Just purchased a GEP turbo engine. $3200 (Auction price $2600, + fees and taxes).

Engine also included:

tranny,
transfer case,
four tires,
suspension,
frame,
M1152 body

This will be my last purchase for a while. This vehicle and my second M1165 (A1 B2) will be brought to complete with parts from my twin M1114 parts trucks that together cost $9000. I will then sell at least one of the M1114’s slantback components.

So why do people keep asking where to get an engine?

Have seen several people use this "source" for specific components. If you've the time and logistical capability, it makes great sense and yield many extras.

If all I need is a good 6.5 engine (which I do), the last thing I want to do is buy a truck with an unknown condition engine in California or Georgia (for many thousands of dollars) then pay more thousands of dollars to ship it to me, then have to deal with the BS of selling the residue and crating and shipping the huge pieces, including dropping them at motor freight. Rather just rebuild what I got, that way I can be sure of quality.

NDT, you’re a great guy. I see it differently. Please forgive…

Shipping, $5-600 clams, not thousands.

I have one parts truck M1114 engine with literally 37 miles. Hardly unknown condition. Another has less than a few hundred miles. My other trucks are mostly less than 7000 miles.

Yeah, there is an unknown factor, but realistically these trucks were no brainers.

Ultimately life itself is a crapshoot. When you turn away from opportunity you lose 100% of the shots you decided not to take.

$3200 plus the 3K or so on shipping is a little more than some folks want to spend
