Just turned 62 and spent over 20 years as a master auto mechanic in ford dealerships. Then I started investing in real estates during the crash of 2007 and turning them into rentals. Now I have to much time on my hands I guess. I have spent a lot of time over the last 12 years playing with alternative energy and becoming less dependent on the grid that is how I became interested in diesel generators and bought my first MEP003. I enjoy learning and there is real satisfaction in knowing I am able to be self sufficient without living like a cave man. :)
I was toying with picking these up at auction and going through them as a hobby but when I get done with one I never want to sell it.

That's why you buy more than two, right? That way you might have one to sell?;)

I certainly can relate to that affliction. For me it started out with the "Two is one, One is none!" mantra. But since I have 2 service entrances on the property, I had to scale that up 2x, then you have to adjust for the parts shortage for these aging machines and account for that. Well, that's how I explain it to the wife! 😏

I'm feeling that. Started with one 802a, then bought a second because 2-is-1. Then thought having a 10k would be better for the shop, then needed a second one of those. Then got the spares running and needed a third for parts for the first two. Now I'm buying trailers, aux tanks, extra load banks, etc., building a whole ecosystem...

*sarcasm* Now I'm sitting here with no money, no friends, my family left me, and the utility power is still on. *sarcasm*
