Trying to start my 003 for the first time after the auction, all fuel pumps were gone, tank has 2in of goo in the bottom, so I installed 1 pump running from a diesel can into the diesel metering fuel pump no diesel getting to the injectors or any making it out of the return the lines to the injectors were off as I found out im thinking the diesel metering fuel pump is bad maybe? Any help would be apriciated!

The injection pump may have a problem, but that would not prevent fuel from coming out of the return lines.
Start by making sure you are getting fuel to the inlet of the injection pump.
Being that the machine has been sitting with the fuel system open to the atmosphere you may also need to do some work on the injection pump itself, but start by ensuring fuel is reaching the pump.

If you are pumping fuel in you should be seeing fuel come.outvof the return. I wonder how gummed up the pump is (after hearing about the rest of the fuel system). I've seen these pumps do one of 2 things: plunger gets stuck and won't pump, or plunger gets stuck and fractured the guide.

If it were me and it was that badly gummed up I would be pulling the IP apart.

I see that in my future I fear it may be past my skill level however and im not even sure I can find a rebuild kit.

They are very easy. But if you don't think you can, I am sure there's a few members here that would do it for you (I include myself in that statement).

The real question is if it's rebuildable. There are 2 versions on this set
