"Fully Gone Thru by our shop" Means that the roof leaks when it snows. 🤬. After getting a few eyewashes while driving, I pulled the turret cover off. Seems it was sealed with some kind of hard sealant like latex caulk. So it was glued on there. Pretty piss poor job IMO. See pics.

In the EMS viewer there are 2 different seals, one for the "Hatch" and one for the "Machine gun Mounting kit". I bought the 12418327 from Memphis since that looks rather robust. I guess the machine gun hole is bigger than the roof hatch hole.

Mine had a strip of tape sealant applied around the circle. Except the bright light that put that strip in, left a gap between the two ends of the tape where they overlapped instead of running them into contact with each other… took longer to take the cover off than it did to fix it…

That's not stock - someone tried. Stock it is just foam tape and sikaflex around the perimeter so it's easy to peel it off for a weapons system.

My HIMARS hatch is sealed VERY well since it's designed for the cab to be pressurized above atmospheric. It uses two rows of foam tape and then an inner and outer bead of sikaflex and then around the perimeter and the bolts. It took me 10 hours to remove it from the HIMARS cab due to glue. I had to use a bottle jack and a 4x4 to push the hatch up while hacking away at the sealant. Bent the floor of the cab quite a bit doing the deed.

The sealant on this hardened from the heat. Once I got a screwdriver under the lip it came apart quickly. No sealing at all. I was literally in a shower after this last wet snowstorm.

I'm hoping the machine gun kit gasket will work.

Now I'm getting ideas of having a sun-roof made out of 1-1/4" polycarbonate. No harm in having some Armour

My hatched leaked, I used 2 layers of butyl tape, and on the outside I used a paintable urethane sealant. I used a rubbing alcohol with a silicone fillet tool to get the sealant to flow well. I never painted over it so the the sealant is starting to weather but it still does not leak after 3 years. Anchorage Alaska’s weather is pretty dry compared to down south tho.

Merry Men of Elysium. It must be a blissful thought to use Home Depot Window and Door caulk on a military truck's roof hatch. Using the same mentality, I'm going to deploy paper straws as rebar in my next concrete pour. 🤦‍♂️
